Back in 1997 in the movie Donnie Brasco, Johnny Dep created a meme with this saying
“Fuhgeddaboutit”
In the botanical sphere, it is also know as a flower. The Limitless Leader sees it in a totally different perspective.
Limitless Leaders see their teammates before seeing themselves.
Here’s one of my favorite quotes from John Maxwell:
“People don’t care what you know. They want to know how much you care.”
John Maxwell
At the beginning of my Limitless Leader Journey, I would enter into a new role wanting to prove that I belong there. So I set on to share the knowledge I had from previous experiences as well as my past achievements. Quickly I have come to learn through failure that people really weren’t interested in what I know and my previous accomplishments. They wanted to know if I would care for them, their career aspirations, their business aspirations. If I would take the time to see them as individuals.
I often ask what are the top 5 moments in your professional career so far. To this day, one of the top 3 is when one of my managers was named manager of the year in the whole country. I still remember that I have never jumped that high since.
It really does not matter if I am remembered. After all it has been said, if the lifetime of Mother Earth is 24 hours, the period us Homo sapiens have lived in those 24 hours is the equivalent of 1 second!!!
As I see it, to make that 1 second count, it is not what makes me remembered; but rather how I have spent it elevating a fellow human being for the next second in this journey. The 2nd Principle of Limitless Leaders: Servant Leadership.
When the Limitless Leader forgets themselves, they are set to never be forgotten.
If interesting, please like. If valuable, please share.
Mahalo for being part of the Journey!!!
