Identifying Hi Potentia or Hi Pos ( Other Limitless Leaders)

As we had shared in a previous post, the 3rd Level of in your Limitless Leader’s Journey is to Lead Leaders. This certainly requires another set of competencies, as Marshall Goldsmith put it:
What got you here, won’t get you there.

But before we do get to use those skills, the Limitless Leader must first learn how to identify those Hi Pos ( Hi Potential Teammates)
I would like to share with you 8 key components I have used to assess Hi Pos
- Curiosity - the thirst to learn and apply. You remember that mindset of the Eternal Apprentice, after all it is our First Principle of The Limitless Leader
- Servant Leadership - is that teammate looking to serve and elevate others or just themselves. Yep, that is also the 2nd Principle
- Accountability - what ownership does the teammate demonstrate or does the teammate pointing fingers away from himself. We could not leave out the 3rd Principle, no?
- Creativity - some would say thinking outside the box. I would suggest how does the teammate reshape the thinking within the box.
- Ability to Influence and Inspire - how does the teammate engage the minds and win the hearts
- Resilience - in the face of adversity how does the teammate push through
- Strategic Ability - what insightful questions does the team ask to gain a better understanding before deciding
- Motivation - what level of enthusiasm does the teammate have to deliver the results
Once you have assessed these components in a teammate within your team, you will know that you will need elevated skills to lead them. Leaders will follow Leaders. So you will need to level up or as my mentor John Maxwell says:
