One of my mentors once quipped that it is lonely at the top, however you are never alone. Another leader I had worked with shared: 'the further you go up the ladder, the more your a$$ shows' . If you are blessed to work with a team, you know decisions are being made to achieve the vision you have casted. However, there are those decisions that only you can make. The larger your team, the tougher those decisions become once they reach you. You are called to make those decisions because the team cannot. Therefore the decision and its outcomes, positive or negative, are yours.

It is indeed lonely, however you must remember that you are not alone. You teammates have provided you their insights, their observations, their reasonings, their point of views and their recommendations. However the decision is yours and yours alone. It must be made. And when it is, it is made in the loneliest of place.

You must get comfortable that things pass. Never let your emotions linger. The quicker it passes from your heart to your head out through your extremities, the more centered you will be. More efficient.
