Why do Limitless Leaders Lead?

always be accountable always be serving leadership of others May 03, 2021

Why do you lead?

Perhaps you were put in a position of authority like shift supervisor.

Perhaps you were given a title and became responsible for a team.

Perhaps you were looking for that promotion with a better salary.

As this passage from an ancient book states:

"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."

Luke - 12:48

It has been popularized in the main stream as the Peter Parker Principle from Spiderman:

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

Uncle Ben

The question asked is: why one would be entrusted with leadership?

In my Limitless Leader Journey to date, I have observed ONE ingredient that appears to be consistent in all Limitless Leaders that came before me.

To illustrate this ONE ingredient, let me take you back to 1849. Imagine if you were born enslaved for 27 years. And during those 27 years, you were beaten and whipped. One time, so much so that you suffered a traumatic head wound from which you had dizziness, pain and bouts of hypersomnia.

Despite these circumstances, you escaped your masters because they were going to sell your family off and break you up.

Once you survived that first escape, during your freedom, you realized that you had alienable rights to live or to die. You then decide to return to help free your family because you believed they also had the same rights. Following this second escape, you became ’The Conductor’ of the Underground Railroad; completing 13 missions and rescuing around 70 enslaved people.

Harriett Tubman became a Limitless Leader not because of a title that was bestowed upon her. She became ‘The Conductor’ because she believed her purpose was to free enslaved people. She also shared that she could have saved more people if they believe they were not slaves.

As I see it, some enslaved people’s purpose was not aligned with Harriet ‘Moses’ Tubman therefore she could not influence them.

Purpose is the ONE ingredient that will ensure that you are an efficient leader. Only if you are clear on why you do what you must do will you be able to inspire others who want the same and set aside those who do not want it. And that is OK.

A Limitless Leader is one who drives results based on the Purpose they want to achieve.

May The Force be with You in finding Your Purpose ( It is May 4th after all ๐Ÿ˜‰)
